Anne - Learning and Well-being - linked. Impact of growth mindset as an example. Hattie - value add. Lots of interventions we can measure impact of. Work out frameworks that will promote student well-being. Helping students develop sense of own strengths. Accomplishment is about personal excellence - paved by growth mindset.
Pam - fundamental challenge - inequality. Haves and Have nots. 8 men own the same amount of wealth as 50% of the worlds poorest. Growing gap between haves and have nots in Australia. 16% wage gap between men and women in workforce. health inequalities between indigenous and non-indigenous.
Dermot - Our disability to understand the consequences that technology has on nature. Technology can also be a positive force to support nature (tracking whales deep into the ocean, etc). Renewal energy can be cheaper - software to connect energy can transform relationship with nature. 1 - 2.5 decades electricity will be free (not connection to, though)
Pam - Greates impact where local community creates the change. Youth participation, etc. Importance of the beneficiaries / those benefititng from outcomes have a voice.
Caroline - need more universities driving equity. Power-enabling programmes. building experience to support, and not limit, aspiration - no matter what your background, it is your talent that will prevail. important to stay in and sustain system.
Young people are the change agents now - provide sxcellent road-map to consider which are the goals that are important to my community? How do we start to tackle those goals? Empower and enable with knowledge - empower with connection. entrepeneurship programmes. Engaement with leaders.
